2nd Annual Aggie fish Blast

FDT Class of 2012 Hound working a station at the 2nd Annual Aggie fish Blast Sporting Clay Fundraising Shoot. 14 former fish Drill Team members supported the event by working as station puller and judges. The AFFDTM hosted 17 shooters to a morning of shooting fun and good fellowship. Everyone had a great time and asking when the next shoot is scheduled.

I wanted to thank the sponsors: Holick's, CC Creations, and Mr. Richard King '75. We appreciate all shooters who attended and look forward to seeing you at the next shoot. Gig'em.

AFFDTM Raffle Winners

Today we held the drawing for the DPMS Panther Lite 20 AR-15 rifle, Springfield Armory 1911-A1 pistol and Benelli Nova 12 Ga shotgun.

Winners:

AR-15 winner Chris Wylie receiving his prize at Burdett & Son Outdoor.

Springfield Armory 1911-A1 .45 Pistol winner was Amanda Schumann.

Benelli Nova 12 Ga shotgun winner was James Kennedy.

The AFFDTM wants to congratulate these winners and appreciate all who purchased tickets. We look forward to hosting another raffle next year and making some people happy. Gig'em.

Texas A&M Foundation Accepts Gift for FDT

Clinton W. Seal '94Clinton W. Seal '94 recently gave the gift of Life Insurance in the name of the Fish Drill Team. An article posted on the Texas A&M Foundation web site quotes Clinton as saying "The experiences I had as a Fish Drill Team member prepared me for the future..." Click to read the complete article.

Not only has Clinton made this gift, but as the Executive Director of the AFFDTM he works tirelessly promoting the Fish Drill Team so that young cadets can have the same life changing experience he had.

Working with Clinton is a pleasure and an inspiration.

The AFFDTM is proud to announce the 2009 Aggie Fish Blast fund raising event. On Saturday August 29, 2009 supporters of Texas A&M's fish Drill Team and Sporting Clay enthusiast will gather in Simonton, TX at the Rio Brazos Hunting Preserve for the Ultimate Outdoors Experience. A 100 target Sporting Clay tournament between 4 person fire teams (carts provided). So come as an individual or bring a whole team for a great time and cause.

Senior Air Force Leadership

Lt. General William Fraser III '74

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has announced recommendations to the President on Senior Air Force Leadership Positions. Lieutenant General William Fraser, III, Class of 1974, has been recommended to follow General Duncan McNabb as the next Air Force Vice Chief. General Fraser is currently the Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In that position he is the Chairman"s chief liaison and advisor on international relations and political-military matters. In addition to his numerous flying and command assignments in the bomber community, General Fraser has extensive wartime, contingency and humanitarian relief operational experience.

General Fraser was a member of the fish Drill Team and was on one of the original National Championship teams, In addition, he served as the Commanding Officerof SQ 10 his senior year in the Corps of Cadets.

Just print out the AFFDTM Program Letter and present it at the check stand to be scanned. You will then be registered for the year. Every time you shop at Kroger and use your enrolled KrogerPlusCard, Kroger will contribute a percentage of your eligible purchases to the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation fund.

Aggie fish Blast '08

Aggie fish Blast 08 is scheduled for 23 Aug 08 in Simonton, TX and will be a 100 target sporting clay fundraising event. Registration is open and available online at: Shoot Promotions. The entry fee includes a meal and drinks; discounted fee for current students HS, 4-H & college. Space is limited so signup soon. If you cannot attend please spread the word.
